X’09 comes once a year and is Canada’s largest Xbox gaming showcase. It’s the one venue most major publishers choose to showcase their best and brightest coming in the holiday season to the Xbox 360. Activision, Ubisoft, EA, and more were present at the event to give some hands-on time to some of this year’s most anticipated titles. The following is a recount of GeneralGames.ca’s first hands-on experience with many of these games.
The Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) is quickly becoming a heavyweight event in the gaming community. With attendance estimates surpassing 60,000 and over 300,000 square feet of convention space packed with nerds of all types, PAX is the largest event organized for gaming fans. Demos, previews and free-play stations from almost every major video game publisher was present showcasing many unreleased titles; Needless to say there was excitement abounding.
As promised back in early March, Valve has released it’s Left 4 Dead DLC, dubbed the Survival Pack, today. The expansion is completely free to both Xbox 360 and PC players and includes the new Survival Mode which pits a co-operative team of four in a static locale while a relentless zombie horde assaults them until they die. The objective being, naturally, to have your team outlast your friends’.
