Music game players have slowly been collecting a veritable museum of plastic instruments over the past five years since Guitar Hero was released on consoles. After conquering the genre with over a dozen Guitar Hero games Activision and Red Octane are looking at doing to hip-hop and DJ culture what they did to rock n’ roll with DJ Hero. Requiring an all-new turntable peripheral has left many questioning if it’s worth sharing space with their plastic guitars and drum kits, but for those enthused about learning to scratch this could be a sound investment.
This past Tuesday, Sony invited GeneralGames.ca to come to the Playstation Holiday Preview event in downtown Toronto to check out all the big games coming out this holiday season on the Playstation 3 and Playstation Portable. A lot of major publishers showed up to show off their titles and we got a lot of really great first-hand experience with a lot of the games you’re dying to hear more about.
X’09 comes once a year and is Canada’s largest Xbox gaming showcase. It’s the one venue most major publishers choose to showcase their best and brightest coming in the holiday season to the Xbox 360. Activision, Ubisoft, EA, and more were present at the event to give some hands-on time to some of this year’s most anticipated titles. The following is a recount of GeneralGames.ca’s first hands-on experience with many of these games.
